Christopher Paine is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 15 years experience in local government and has worked in a variety of roles, including the Director of Finance and Asset Management for the District of Oak Bay, and the Director of Finance for the City of Colwood. Christopher is the founder of FIT Local Government Consulting, a firm specializing in local government finance and asset management. FIT Consulting has worked closely with the GFOABC, the Union of BC Municipalities, and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to create and deliver asset management content. Christopher has worked closely with GFOABC for many years to help deliver the Collectors' Forum and Boot Camp financial reporting seminar. Christopher’s work has been the recipient of many awards including a UBCM Community Excellence Award, a GFOA of US & Canada Award for Excellence, and a GFOABC Outstanding Achievement Award. Christopher believes local government financial professionals have a unique opportunity to learn from each other and share experience.
