Pre-Conference Program

Procurement Workshop & Toolkit
Procurement is critical in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and value in public spending. This workshop webinar series is designed to provide local government staff and stakeholders with the skills and knowledge to navigate the procurement process effectively, underpinned by a refreshed procurement toolkit.

Fall PD Program
Every November we are pleased to bring you two full days of professional development programming. Workshops take a best practice approach providing opportunity for attendees to network and share their experience on a variety of topics relevant to local government finance professionals.

Property Taxation Workshop Webinars
These workshops provide a just in time training approach for new and not-so-new property tax collectors and revenue managers.

Asset Retirement Obligations Workshop Series
March 2018, the Public Sector Accounting Board approved the final Handbook Section PS 3280, Asset Retirement Obligations. This series of workshops will serve as a forum for members to work together to address this new standard.

Local Government Accounting & Auditing Workshop
Every other year, GFOABC partners with CPABC for the biennial Local Government Accounting and Auditing Workshop. This workshop includes techincal accounting presentations on new and changing public sector accounting standards relevant to local government.
