Thank you to the District of Metchosin for requesting GFOABC survey the membership on their per diem rates. As a result of this survey our strategic partner CivicInfo is considering including per diems in their annual survey to be shared with local governments around the province.
During the month of August, GFOABC surveyed local governments in British Columbia for their staff travel allowance limits. After running the survey twice over a four-week period the survey closed with a total of 40 responses. The local governments have been divided into small, medium and large. The results are as follows:

ZONE 2
The survey did not specifically request that per diem rates be split between zone one and zone two. However, many respondents selected to provide both figures as seen below.

INCIDENTALS
The survey revealed that not every organization offers a per diem for incidentals. 62% of local governments have an allowance for incidentals while 38% do not. The average incidental per diem is $14.98, ranging from $5 - $25.
We have included the individual responses with the organization name removed.
